[/li]The Judges and Judging System
This is where we explain who the site's current Judges are and how a member can become a Judge if desired. The Judging System is also explained here with explanations of how Stats are determined before a fight begins and how points are given at the end of each fight.
The Judges
- Vera - has judged 0 fights
- Janie - has judged 0 fights
How To Become a Judge
Anyone can become a Judge but there are some requirements that will need to be met before one can be considered to start training as a Judge.
- Member must be a member for at least 2 weeks.
- Member must prove activity on the site.
- Member must be able to post regularly enough on the site in order to meet the deadlines required for Judging; in other words be able to post at least once in a 24 to 48 hour period.
If you feel like you meet all of the above requirements then you may apply to become a Judge with the following form:
OOC Name:
How Long? How long have you been a member?
Activity: Give your best estimate of how often you post on the site a week.
Deadlines?: On a regular basis, do you think you can meet the 24-48 hour deadline requirement?[/code*]
Once you've been accepted (staff will message you on here or on Discord), each member will enter into a Training Period before they can become a full Judge. This will include:
- Completing 2 separate judging; one with each of the 2 admins.
- Deciding if you like the judging process and if you would like to continue on with the Training Period.
- Completing at least another 2 judging or until you are comfortable enough with the process to become a full Judge (please let staff know when you are comfortable).
Once the Training Period is over, the member will be recognized as an official Judge on Destiny Calls and will no longer need to have staff assist in judging fights (though there will always be at least 2 Judges per fight). This also means that they can help train others to become Judges in the future. The Judging System
While it may seem like the system is confusing, the staff will assist in every way that we can. There really is just a lot of math for the Judges to do before, possibly during, and after the fight. This is a step by step guide as to just exactly how a fight will be judged from before the fight starts, during the fight, and after the fight as well as how the Judges determine the winner.
- Before Fight Starts
- The members of the fighting characters will post a completed form: HERE.
- Once the form is completed, two Judges will be determined based on if they can remain unbiased towards both of the characters who are fighting; this means that they do not have any characters with a very close tie (like mates or children) to either of the fighting characters. (Sometimes this will be unavoidable however but in such cases, the Judges will be the ones with the least amount of bias.)
- Once the Judges are determined, they will add or subtract any bonuses from both of the character's original stats. (If you upgrade your character's original stats, it is your responsibility to add them to the Stat Listing.) These bonuses include:
- Expertise Advantage - Title/Profession/Job: HERE
- Elemental Power Ability Advantage: HERE
- Unique Power Ability Advantage: HERE
- Physical Condition: HERE
[li]Judges will also determine the stats of any pets that your character might have if they have the Whispering ability.
[li]Any character with a high Charisma can also choose to make a roll in an attempt to add another character into the fight.[/li][/ul]
[li]During the Fight[/li]
- Judges will post if a member requested an extension to allow more time to post.
- Judges will post that a fight has concluded if a character:
- Fails their Wisdom roll (if between 0-2)
- Succeeds their Wisdom roll (if between 16-20) if character wants to stop a fight
- Fails their Willpower roll (if between 0-4)
- Succeeds in a Charisma roll (if between 16-20) if character wants to stop a fight
[li]Judges will post that a fight has been put on hold if a character:[/li]
- Succeeds in a Charisma roll (if between 11-20) and wants to add another character to the fight
- Is a Spirit User and succeeds in making a communication roll to summon a God or Goddess
- Is a Spirit User and succeeds in making a resurrecting/necromancy roll
[li]After the Fight: Bonuses and Stats[/li]
- Judges will add up all of the damage taken for each character (damage = Strength stat)
- The character with the higher Elemental or Unique Ability Rank will receive their advantage bonus: HERE.
- The Judges will also determine if both or either character receives a Posting Advantage bonus: HERE.
- Judges will add a Willpower bonus to any character that has between a 16-20 Willpower.
[li]Determining the Winner[/li]
- Each character will receive a summary of the points that were added or not added in conclusion of the fight.
- The points that are added also includes the damage dealt to the other character!
- The character with the most points at the conclusion of the fight (with all bonuses added) is the winner of the fight.
[li]What Happens After a Fight?[/li]
- Within the summary that the Judges will provide at the end of a fight, there will also be a list of the injuries that the character sustained.
- The Judges will determine if those injuries are Minor or Major and how many there are.
- The RPers of both characters (or all character's involved) then need to go to the Injuries and Healings page and fill out the form in order to receive the date in which the character's will be fully healed.
- If a witness wishes to intervene, a new fighting form must be filled out.
