[/li]Breeding, Babies, and Development
This page focuses on explaining in detail how Breeding works on Destiny Calls as well as how character's develop based on their ages both physically, mentally, and emotionally.Breeding
On DC, there will be a form that needs to be filled out in the Claims section of the site. To make sure that everything is fair, anything related to Breeding will be based on dice rolls made by the Staff member who will post their dice rolls (range = 1-100) as proof of what was rolled. There are a lot of components that will be considered to determine if a breeding is successful or not; these which will include:
- Willing:
- 95% chance of success if both partners are of opposing genders and are part of the same Kingdom or Empire and are of similar species/same grouping.
- Examples: Lion/Tiger, Zebra/Deer, Raven/Magpie, Frog/Toad
[li]90% chance of success if both partners are opposing genders and are NOT part of the same Kingdom or Empire but both are still part of a Kingdom or Empire and are of similar species/same grouping
[li]85% chance of success if both partners are of opposing genders and only one partner is part of a Kingdom or Empire and of similar species/same grouping.[/li]
[li]70% chance of success if both partners are of opposing genders and neither partner is part of a Kingdom or Empire and are of similar species/same grouping.[/li]
[li]75% chance of success if both partners are of opposing genders and are part of the same Kingdom or Empire but are NOT similar species/same grouping.[/li]
- Examples: Lion/Horse, Dolphin/Sea Turtle, Snake/Rabbit
[li]70% chance of success if both partners are opposing genders and are NOT part of the same Kingdom or Empire but both are still part of a Kingdom or Empire and are NOT similar species/same grouping[/li]
[li]65% chance of success if both partners are of opposing genders and only one partner is part of a Kingdom or Empire and are NOT similar species/same grouping.[/li]
[li]60% chance of success if both partners are of opposing genders and neither partner is part of a Kingdom or Empire and are NOT similar species/same grouping.[/li][/ul]
[li]Forced:[/li]
- 55% chance of success if both partners are of opposing genders and are part of the same Kingdom or Empire and are of similar species/same grouping.
- Examples: Lion/Tiger, Zebra/Deer, Raven/Magpie, Frog/Toad
[li]50% chance of success if both partners are opposing genders and are NOT part of the same Kingdom or Empire but both are still part of a Kingdom or Empire and are of similar species/same grouping[/li]
[li]45% chance of success if both partners are of opposing genders and only one partner is part of a Kingdom or Empire and of similar species/same grouping.[/li]
[li]40% chance of success if both partners are of opposing genders and neither partner is part of a Kingdom or Empire and are of similar species/same grouping.[/li]
[li]35% chance of success if both partners are of opposing genders and are part of the same Kingdom or Empire but are NOT similar species/same grouping.[/li]
- Examples: Lion/Horse, Dolphin/Sea Turtle, Snake/Rabbit
[li]30% chance of success if both partners are opposing genders and are NOT part of the same Kingdom or Empire but both are still part of a Kingdom or Empire and are NOT similar species/same grouping[/li]
[li]25% chance of success if both partners are of opposing genders and only one partner is part of a Kingdom or Empire and are NOT similar species/same grouping.[/li]
[li]20% chance of success if both partners are of opposing genders and neither partner is part of a Kingdom or Empire and are NOT similar species/same grouping.[/li][/ul]
[li]Infertile: (Because there are many ways and reasons why some couples are infertile, this is included. Just because one states that they are infertile does not mean that do not have any chances at all.)[/li]
- If one partner is infertile, there will be an automatic 20% deduction from the success rates stated in the above categories
- If both partners are infertile, this is doubled to a 40% automatic deduction from the success rates stated in the above categories
- If a couple wishes to stop trying because of hardship, they can also try to plead for a successful breeding to either the Goddesses of Love, Life, or Peace. (Buy a breeding pass)
- Infertile couples can also adopt other babies and children if desired.
[li]Same Sex Couples: (Because of the logistics that need to be in consideration, there are only 3 ways for a Same Sex Couple to have children.)[/li]
- Have a surrogate; which will then turn into a Willing breeding attempt.
- They can also try to plead for a successful breeding to either the Goddesses of Life or Peace. Buy a breeding pass)
- Or the couple can adopt other babies and children if desired.
Babies
If a Breeding was successful, then the Staff will then make another series of dice rolls (range = 1-100) to determine the result of the breeding such as how many babies are to be expected, the species, any deformities, ect.
- Number of Babies:
- The range of the number of babies that a couple might have is largely impacted by the species of the parents.
- If both parents' are of a species that has multiple babies born in a single litter:
- Roll = 0-25 ~ 1 baby
- Roll = 26-50 ~ 2 babies
- Roll = 51-75 ~ 3 babies
- Roll = 76-90 ~ 4 babies
- Roll = 91-100 ~ 5 babies
[li]If one or both of the parents are a species that has only one baby born at a time; then the litter size will always be a max of two.[/li]
- Roll = 0-90 ~ 1 baby
- Roll = 91-100 ~ 2 babies
[li]Species of Babies:[/li]
- If RPers want the offspring to be merged (like ligers for example):
- 75% chance of success if parents are of similar species
- 25% chance of success if parents are NOT of similar species
[li]If RPers do not want offspring to be merged OR there are failed merging attempts:[/li]
- 50% chance of offspring being either the mother's species or the father's species
[li]Gender:[/li]
- 50% chance of offspring being either male or female (The adopter of the baby can decide freely if their new character is anything else.)
[li]Disabilities or Defects:[/li]
- If parents have no genetic mental or physical disabilities:
- Roll = 0-10 ~ Born with Major mental or physical disability
- Roll = 11-20 ~ Born with Minor mental or physical disability
- Roll = 21-100 ~ Born normally
[li]If one parent has a genetic mental or physical disability:[/li]
- Roll = 0-35 ~ Born with genetic mental or physical disability:
- Roll = 36-100 ~ Born normally
[li]If both parents have a genetic mental or physical disability:[/li]
- Roll = 0-45 ~ Born with genetic mental or physical disability
- Roll = 46-100 ~ Born normally
[li]Stillborn:[/li]
- Remember, if any baby does not get adopted by a member/RPer by the time the birth happens; the baby or babies will be considered stillborn.
Development
This is a very important section for all members to at least glance at when determining how old to make a new character or how to play their character once their character has reached a certain age range. Listed below is a list of the character's age ranges and how old that character would be physically and mentally.
The requirements to move up to the next age range are also included.
- Newborns, Babies, and Toddlers
- Around 2 years old
- Character can see, hear, and move around. Is still getting their balance. Their speech would be garbled, not perfect.
- Min of 2 RL weeks - Max of 2 RL months
- At least 2 threads
[li]Children[/li]
- Around 3-12 years old
- Character still has an innocent outlook on life, unless traumatized, ect. Speech is normal, movement is normal. Still attached to guardians but can also make friends and play. In later childhood, characters would begin to test limits, boundaries, ect.
- Min of 1 RL month - Max of 3 RL months
- At least 3 threads
[li]Teenagers[/li]

- Min of 2 RL months - Max of 3 RL months
- At least 3 threads
[li]Young Adults[/li]
- 18-14 years old
- Most characters at this age no longer depend on their parents or guardians and if they do, it is very minimal and usually just for emotional support. Some characters rush to find their true loves and settle down with families as quickly as possible. Characters at this age will be expected to hold jobs within their Kingdoms/Empires.
- Min of 2 RL months - Max of 3 RL months
- At least 4 threads
[li]Adults [/li]
- 25-44 years old
- By this stage, characters have a good grasp on how life is supposed to go. They have usually been working at their job for at least a little while, enough to start getting promotions if one presents itself. If a character has not settled down with a mate or has children, then usually the character will start to prioritize this happening.
- Min of 3 RL months - Max of 4 RL months
- At least 4 threads
[li]Middle Adulthood [/li]
- 45-64 years old
- Characters at this stage are usually openly seeking leadership positions within a Kingdom or Empire if they have not already achieved success in this area. By this time, they have usually settled down with a mate and have had or adopted children if desired. This is the start of younger characters usually seeking out advice as well.
- Min of 3 RL months - Max of 4 RL months
- At least 5 threads
[li]Seasoned Adulthood [/li]
- 65-84 years old
- This is the age rank in which most characters are seen as some type of leader, even if the position is to be an Advisor to a younger leader. Younger characters are typically actively seeking advice from these characters. Females are no longer able to have children at this stage and characters start to have a decline in their health in some form or fashion.
- Min of 3 RL months - Max of 4 RL months
- At least 5 threads
[li]Later Adulthood (Elderly) [/li]
- 85-100 years old
- These characters are usually deeply respected and valued by all, across all Kingdoms and Empires. As long as they have not suffered from major altering decline in their mental health, characters are viewed as wise and having an expanse of knowledge that is frequently sought out.
- These characters will be asked to make periodic rolls for developing Minor and Major Physical and Mental Disabilities.
- Min of 3 RL months - Max of 4 RL months
- At least 3 threads
- When the member is ready, please let staff know when character can die.
- The closer it gets to the 4 month mark, the more likely staff will notify the member that their character has died.
