The Ranks of Destiny Calls
Here are the ranks that characters can become in their lifetime. Some of these ranks are extremely rare, but at the same time are also extremely rewarding. The Ranks of an Empire can be changed by an Emperor or Empress.
You can choose a leading rank as long as you have plans for your character to immediately become a leader as soon as the requirements are met. Council members are chosen In Character though; as are any leading sub-groups such as Sage or Lead Hunter.

- Emperor or Empress of entire Empire (Water, Earth, Fire, Air) - This is the leader of the Empire. They decide who gets what rank, decide on the laws of the Empire, gets all the final decisions and chooses what to do with slaves, hostages and kidnapped children. Anyone can be an Emperor or Empress, however only two creatures may rule the Empire. They are most commonly mates or relatives. Characters must be considered at least an Adult to hold this rank.
- The Council of each Emperor/Empress - Can be as small or as large as the Emperor or Empress would like; Councils are typically made up of anywhere from 3 to 5 members though some can even be as large as 7 members.
- Lord/Lady - The Lord of an Empire is normally one who controls a few Kingdoms that the Empire controls to help the Emperor or Empress. The Lord is a very important and respected rank. The Lords' opinions are very valued among the Empire. In Order to become a Lord characters must be at least a Young Adult.
- Duke/Duchess - This is the Emperor's and Empress's right hand. They can inherit the leadership if there are no Heirs to the Empire. They enforce the will of the Emperor and Empress. They also guard the Empire from intruders and protect the citizens.
- Earl - Earls are the left hand of the Emperor and Empress. They are the head of the Empire Army. They are well respected and trusted. They are in charge of all the Knights. They protect the Empire at any cost. Characters must be at least a Young Adult to hold this position. There is only one Earl.
- The Heir to the Throne - The Heir is the next in line when the Emperor or Empress can no longer rule for whatever reason. The Heir does not have to be the child of the Emperor and Empress but usually it is. There can only be up to two Heirs to the Empire. Characters can be any age to hold this rank.
[li]Kings and Queens of each Kingdom - Each Empire is broken into smaller sections of territory that is ruled by a King or Queen. Each King or Queen is mandated to swear fealty (loyalty) to the Emperor/Empress but is pretty much able to rule their own territory how they see fit.- Heir to the Kingdom - This character is chosen specifically to be the next leader of the Kingdom, usually the Heirs are the children of the King or Queen.
- Princes and Princesses - These characters are always the children of the King or Queen, sometimes a child can be adopted and made into this rank as well.
[li]Knights - are a step above Warriors with special training and act as the generals or commanders in a fighting force; though they also act as protectors of the Kings, Queens, Emperors/Empresses, and their families. They may not be the highest rank but they are still highly respected. Knights have a Code of Honor that they must adhere to. Characters must be at least a Young Adult to have this rank.
- Squires - are Knights in training. They must have a Knight as a mentor to help them learn the Code of Honor and fine tune their understanding of what responsibilities a Knight has to accomplish. Characters must be at least considered a Child to have this rank. It is up to the Knight who is mentoring them when their Squire becomes an official Knight by having their Emperor/Empress knight them.
[li]Warriors - are the main fighting force of the Kingdoms and Empire; they make up the bulk of the armies and are supposed to protect the citizens of the Kingdoms from harm. Their direct supervisors are the Knights and if no Knight is available, then they take their orders from the King or Queen.[/li]
[li]Sage - A Sage is the lead Healer. They guide the other Healers, tell them what to do and what herbs to gather. They must know both Herbs and Magic Healing to become a Sage and there can only be one. Characters must be at least an Adult to be a Sage.[/li]
- Healers - Healers are either studying the ways of Healing Magic or have Mastered it completely. They could also be creatures who study herbs and plants. These creatures are highly respected, sometimes more respected than Knights. Without them the Empire's Army would crumble. Characters must be at least a Teenager to hold this rank. There is no limit to the amount of Healers an Empire may have.
[li]Lead Hunter - The Lead Hunter is the top of the Hunting Line. They command all other Hunters, telling them what to hunt, when to hunt, when to strike. They are highly important. Characters must be at least a Young Adult to become this rank.[/li]
- Hunters - Hunters are the providers of the Empire. They gather food for the entire Empire, they are skilled at tracking and hunting. They help feed the entire Empire. Without them the Empire would grow hungry and weak. There is no limit to the amount of Hunters an Empire may have.
[li]Lead Spy - The Lead Spy is the one who commands all other spies, telling them where to go, what to spy on, how to do it. The Lead Spy has to be extremely stealthy. They have to be willing to make hard decisions in case a spy is captured or seen. Characters must be at least a Young Adult to be this rank.[/li]
- Spies - Spies are the eyes are the Empire. They watch over everything, including their own Empire. They gather Intel on anything useful that the Emperor or Empress may want or need. They often leave the Empire and join another to spy. They have to be extremely smart and think outside the box. They have to be careful and stealthy. Characters must be at least a Teenager to be this rank.
[li]Nanny - The Nanny is the lead caretaker of the Empire. They order the other Caretakers, making sure they are taking proper care of the children. They also take care of the sick and injured while the Healers and Sage are away gathering herbs or caring for another patient. Characters must be at least a Young Adult to be this rank.[/li]
- Caretaker - Caretakers follow the orders of the Nanny. They care for the children as well as the sick or injured while the Sage and Healers are away. They need to keep focused, for if the children are injured or endangered, it could mean their life. Characters must be at least a Teenager to be this rank.
[li]Lead Guard - The Lead Guard commands all over Guards. They watch over the Hostages and make sure they are healthy and ready for trading whenever the time comes. They can also capture Hostages with other Guards. Characters must be at least a Young Adult to hold this rank.[/li]
- Guards - Guards follow the command of the Lead Guard. They watch over the Hostages and make sure they are healthy and ready for trading. They are normally the main ones to go off and capture Hostages. Characters must be at least a Teenager old to hold this rank.
[li]Lead Slaver - The Lead Slaver is the commander of all other Slavers. They make sure the Slavers are treating the Slaves how the Emperor or Empress believes how they should be treated. They make sure the Slaves do not escape or taken. They organize Slave Trades with other Empires for resources or members. They can also capture Slaves with other Slavers. Characters must be at least a Young Adult to hold this rank.[/li]
- Slavers - Slavers work under the Lead Slaver. They must treat the Slaves how they are meant to be treated. This is judged by the Emperor and Empress. They make sure nobody takes the slaves and the slaves do not escape. They can help with Slave Trading when the time comes. They are normally the ones to go out and capture slaves. Characters must be at least a Teenager to hold this rank.
[li]Citizens - The Citizens are the creatures that live in the Empire and follow the laws of the Empire. They have authority over any rank below themselves. This includes Slaves, Hostages and even the Children. Characters may be any age to be this rank.[/li]
- Tailors - Are characters who specialize in making clothing and give their goods to others within their Kingdom or Empire, or they can sell their clothing to other Kingdoms and Empires
- Jewelers - Are characters who specialize in making all kinds of jewelry. Like the tailor, they can sell their goods to other Empires or Kingdoms if they do not wish to give their product away for free.
- Entertainers - These characters are the artists, poets, singers, dancers, storytellers, and any other kind of performer found within the Kingdoms; it is considered a great honor to be chosen to perform in front of a King or Queen and an even greater honor to perform in front of an Empress or Emperor.
[li]Children - The Children are the youth of the Empire. Their job is to grow strong and healthy while learning the laws and roles of the Empire. They are very vulnerable. Characters must be under a age of a Teenager to be a child.[/li]
[li]Hostages - Hostages are creatures that have been captured. They have a higher rank than slaves but cannot command them. Hostages normally have their rights, and are treated fairly while they stay within the Empire/Kingdom. Normally Hostages are forbidden to leave the Empire unless they are being traded or released. Usually, Hostages are used like bargaining chips in order for the Kingdom or Empire to get what they want.[/li]
[li]Prisoners - Prisoners are characters who have been captured through the result of lost battles, wars, raids, any combat related event. Prisoners can either be treated well or very harshly, sometimes even worse than Slaves. Sometimes Prisoners can be made into Slaves or Hostages while sometimes, they can even be made into regular members of the Kingdom/Empire who captured them if their loyalty is swayed.[/li]
[li]Slaves - Slaves are creatures that have been captured and are being forced to work for their life. They are the lowest rank of an Empire. They normally have no rights at all. This includes the right to have an opinion or even speak. Slaves normally eat the scraps of the scraps because of this they are usually in a poor condition. Normally slaves are watched 24/7 by a member of the Empire.[/li][/div]
